Worship
Every Sunday morning we gather as a congregation to renew our covenant with God, worship Him as King, and celebrate His resurrection. We worship through the reading of scripture, singing and making music to God, prayer, giving, and the preaching of the Word.
Hickory Road is committed to expository preaching, which is a careful drawing out of the exact meaning of a passage in its original context, going verse by verse through books of the Bible. This keeps the meaning of the Scriptures in their context and give the hearers a better understanding of the what we are studying. Our worship is not a time for personal opinions, rather it is an opportunity for all of us to hear from God as His Word is faithfully explained, illustrated, and applied.
Sunday School
Why Sunday School? We believe that Jesus taught the value and importance of smaller settings to learn God's word and to grow together. In these kinds of settings, people are better able to connect with one another as they learn and discuss the teachings of Scripture and what it means to live as a Christian in our culture. It is also through these individual classes that we are better able to minister to those within and outside our church community. Our Sunday school classes meet for one hour every Sunday morning at 9:45AM.
