The Gospel Project for Kids immerses kids and preschoolers in the gospel through every story, theological concept, and call to mission from Genesis to Revelation. Ultimately, the gospel message changes everything; heart transformation can only take place when a child experiences the gospel. Through The Gospel Project for Kids, kids and preschoolers will understand the Bible is not just a collection of stories, but one unified story—God’s story of redemption.

SUNDAY MORNINGS at 9:45 AM

for children 4 years and older

We have Sunday school classes for Preschool, Kindergarten-2nd Grade, 3rd-5th Grade, and Youth (6th-12th grade).  Our teachers plan lessons from scripture, showing them that the Bible is filled with stories of people who have had struggles similar to the struggles our children are facing, or will face, as they mature.  By "hiding" the Word of God in their hearts, and through Biblical accounts, children can begin to see God's goodness, faithfulness, love, and guidance.

If you are planning your first visit with us, you are welcome to let us know, and a host will be there to show you and your whole family to their classrooms.

SUNDAY MORNINGS during corporate worship

for children 4 years - 2nd grade

Our children's church class engages the children through Bible stories, Scripture memorization, music, and crafts designed to reinforce biblical truths.  We emphasize that the knowledge of God provides them a foundation to make right choices. This in turn will teach them that life is best lived when they are in obedience to God. 

Children exit the main service along with their teachers when prompted before the sermon begins.  

NIGHTLY from 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM, usually the first week of June

for children 4 years - 9th grade

Each year, we host VBS from Monday through Friday during the first full week of June.  Time is scheduled for scripture lessons, music, games, and snacks as we teach and reinforce the Gospel to our children.  VBS is open to anyone in our community, so we encourage you to come and bring your friends!  Keep an eye out for more information and registration as we get closer to June.

for infants and toddlers up to 3 years

Hickory Road's nursery ministry is dedicated to providing a loving, safe, nurturing environment for the children of our members and visitors. Our purpose is to provide care for these young children so their parents will be able to focus on worshiping God and connecting with the body of HRBC during services and events.

All of our nursery volunteers clear a national and local criminal background check before serving in the nursery.
